FAQ

Cooling and Heating
  • What is the warranty on new HVAC systems?

Comfort Tech provides a 10 year warranty on all parts and a 2 year labor warranty - if our company installs a new system for you.

  • How often should my unit be maintained?

After the first 3-4 years of your unit's life, you should have someone come out and check it at least once a year. Maintenance agreements are recommended after the 3rd year. We will come and make sure there are no issues with your system, and that everything is working properly.

  • What rating of air filter should I use?

We recommend cheaper air filters - not pleated ones. The important part is keeping them changed every 30 to 45 days.

  • What areas do you service?

Comfort Tech services the Triad area of NC. We service Davidson, Randolph, Guilford, Forsyth, and Davie counties.

  • If I purchased my own thermostat can you install it for me?

Yes, but we don't recommend purchasing thermostats from stores. When we install a thermostat, we give a 5 year warranty versus the 1 year warranty you will receive from the store in which you purchased the thermostat from.

  • What are the benefits of HVAC zoning?

Every house is different and we would want to look at your house so that we can give you a recommendation on if you house needs zoning, and what options would be best for you.

  • What should I do if my unit is frozen?

Turn the system off and the fan on your thermostat into the on position and then call us. This allows for the unit to begin defrosting, which is a several hour process. Just because your unit doesn't have ice on it, doesn't mean it has thawed out completely.

  • What is the benefit of choosing Comfort Tech to come out to my house versus another company?

We have been in business for 30 years. We are bonded and insured. We will never try to sell you things you don't need. Our company wants to meet yours and your family's needs.
